There’s a Mexican saying “Agua que no has de beber dejala correr.”
Which literally means, let the water run which that you’re not going to drink.
In other words, when we are not going to love a person, or commit to that person. Then we should let the person free to find love in somebody else. We all deserve to love and to be loved.
Sometimes, love ought to be liberating. We need to be honest with ourselves and let people go to find what we cannot give to them. That in essence is being benevolent.
If you cannot stay friends, or cannot help them once they leave, at least don’t hurt them.
We need to let go.
The meaning of this is to accept somebody’s departure from our life especially if that was a love one.
Sometimes, our ego feeds from attention. We get used to it, but it doesn’t mean that we love the person back.
In reality the object of our “possession”, is the person who waits and waits, until he/she realized that will not get that correspondence from our love, and leaves.
The person whose stays, must to feel like waiting, for the Cardinal bird who doesn’t come back to sing anymore. When a bird fly away and meets someone new. Someone to feel free with and love.
“We don’t know what we have until we lose it as true as that we do not know what we were missing until we find it.” -Urban saying.
It is nothing personal, love will find it’s way.
After all, LOVE is what life is, for.
